The City University of New York Athletic Conference announced its outdoor track and field All-Stars this past Friday afternoon, and the Lehman College squads were well represented.
On the men’s side, Head Coach Lesleigh Hogg, who’s just completed his 13th season as skipper of the outdoor teams, was named Coach of the Year for helping lead the men’s unit to its second consecutive CUNYAC championship earlier this month. In addition, standout Pete Charles, who won the long jump and triple jump events at the CUNYAC championships, was named Athlete of the Year for his phenomenal contributions to the Lightning this season.
Other All Stars on the men’s side for Lehman included Irfan Anwar, Joseph Bodden, Andre Gouldbourne, and Jase Franklyn. All four of these individuals put forth stellar seasons and were crucial in helping the Lightning nail down a conference title.
The Lightning also had a slew of All Stars on the women’s side as well. Chianne Ashman, Dorothy Jean-Pierre, Jillene Sennon, Janina Browne, Lauren Lourick, and Jo-Ann Winter were all given praise.
