This past weekend, members of the Lehman College women's indoor track and field team wrapped up their 2009-2010 seasons by competing in the ECAC championships at Smith College in Massachusetts. Standouts Dorothy Jean-Pierre, Simonie Moore, Jillene Sennon, and Caroline Chung made their way to the event looking to finish their seasons on a high note.
At the event, the highlight performance for the ladies came when they competed together in the women's 4x400 race, as they put forth their best time of the season in that competition with a time of 4:08.81. That time placed the Lightning 12th in an event that featured 19 participating colleges.
As for the individual performances – Pierre – who medaled in the 1500 at the CUNY championship meet – competed in the 1000 meter run and finished that event with a time of 3:13.97. Also, Sennon ran the 200 meter dash – putting forth a time of 26.97. Following the event, Lehman College head coach Lesleigh Hogg gave his thoughts.
“I was very impressed with the ladies this weekend,” Hogg said. “Their individual times were a little slower than they had hoped for, but their performance as a unit in the 4x400 race was very impressive and I was happy to see that. These four ladies had wonderful seasons and I couldn't be more proud of them.”
