Men's Basketball Assistant Coaches

Assistant Coach Phil Terry (7th Season)
Coach Phil Terry will enter his eighth season with the Lightning.

A 1983 graduate of the School of Management at SUNY-Binghamton, was also a stand-out player for the University. During the offseaon, he coaches & mentors high school basketball players who participate in the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks summer basketball camps.

Coach Terry plays a privotal role in recruiting, scouting and player development. Terry is currently employed by Johnson & Johnson as a CNS Senior Specialty Sales Representative.

Terry currently resides in Bridgewater, N.J.

 

 

Assistant Coach Elliott Crump (3rd Season)
 
 Elliott Crump has just completed his third year with the Lighting as one of Head Coach Steven Schulman's assistant coaches.

Coach Crump’s experience in the game of basketball dates back to his High School days, when he spent three years playing basketball at Hazen High School from 1993-1996.

Crump is also familiar with coach Steve Schulman’s system, having served as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Lehman during the 2005-06 season. Previously, he served as the HSMS Alianza Dominicana Tournament Head Coach as well as the Taft Educational Campus Junior Varsity Head Coach during 2006-07.

Coach Crump has also assisted at numerous summer basketball camps, including the camp ran by coach Schulman, as well as women’s basketball Head Coach, Eric Harrison. In addition to being involved with the Lehman summer basketball camps, Crump also assisted camps at Carroll College and Capital High School.

During his first three go-arounds with the Lightning, Crump was instrumental in the development of first-year Lehman players such as Duane Rhoden, Alain De la Cruz and Xavier Garvin.

This past season, Crump was instrumental in assisting coach Schulman as the Lightning posted a 21-9 overall record, winning a CUNYAC playoff game and eventually going on to win the 2009 ECAC Metro NY/NJ Men's Basketball Tournament, as the Lightning defeated USMMA, Montclair State, and NYU in that event.
