The Lehman College soccer team (0-2 Overall, 0-0 CUNYAC) dropped a non-conference match to Skidmore College (3-0 Overall, 0-0 Liberty) by the score of 4-0 Saturday afternoon in their second day of competing in the Cardinal Classic held at SUNY Plattsburgh.
Matt Kelsey advanced The Thoroughbreds with the first goal of the game in the 16:20 mark of the first half. The senior forward continued his momentum by scoring another goal twelve minutes later with the assist of fellow teammate Doug Yeates.
In the second half, junior middle fielder Diego Reinero shot the third goal with the helpful pass of fellow scorer Matt Kelsey. The Thorougbreds scored the fourth and final goal of the game with five minutes left in the second half.
Despite the lost for the Lightnings Marcos Coto-Batres recorded 16 saves. The Thoroughbreds took 47 shots to the Lightning's one.
The Lightning will return to the field in their first home game of the season on Wednesday where they will battle the Fighting Blue Jays of NYU Polytechnic. Game-time is scheduled for 7:00pm on Lehman's South Field.
